Comfort Care

Your generous gift is helping us to build more Comfort Care rooms at Phelps Hospital and enhance the Comfort Care we provide our patients, their loved ones, and our dedicated staff.    Comfort Care rooms are private rooms outfitted for special care. They are used for end-of-life care, palliative care offered at all stages of life, and for those suffering from chronic conditions.

Phelps opened our first two comfort care rooms in 2019. Two additional rooms are currently under construction and will open in Spring 2024. Comfort Care rooms allow us to offer patients on comfort care a homelike environment in a hospital setting. Comfort Care Rooms feature a private, peaceful, and serene environment, comfort amenities for patients and their loved ones and Hudson River views. Our comfort care rooms have been made possible thanks to generous donor support

Our Comfort Care Fund also supports Comfort Care for Staff. We call it Team Lavender. Team Lavender supports our dedicated staff as they care for patients at all stages of life including challenging circumstances. Team Lavender functions like a "rapid response" to provide just-in-time support and resources for team members when they need it the most.
